'Museum Standard’ re-usable containers

CUSTOM... containers are a completely new versatile type of re-useable container designed to achieve near perfect optimum strength to weight ratio (typically a saving in the order of 40% over conventional wooden panel materials) and sufficiently versatile for manufacture in a wide range of sizes and styles from small hand carry to slotted and single picture, being suitable for the protection during transportation of two and three-dimensional Art Objects.

CONSTRUCTION DETAILS

CUSTOM... containers are manufactured by Kent Services using lightweight sandwich panels, which are sealed and riveted into aluminium extrusions, forming a strong and solid structure capable of withstanding rough handling. Panel thickness will be as appropriate to individual type, style, and size of container. This enables CUSTOM... containers to be manufactured exactly to customer requirements by achieving maximum strength but at a much lighter overall weight when compared to other methods of construction.

Each corner of a CUSTOM... container is protected with a pre-formed metal case corner. The lid and base interfaces are fitted with a waterproof seal, secured together with hinges and a suitable quantity of heavy duty quick release fasteners with facility for padlocks. They are also Customs sealable. Handles will be fitted as appropriate to style and type of container. Warning and identification labels will be adhered as considered appropriate or specified by customers.

INSULATION AND CUSHIONING

All CUSTOM... containers will be fully fitted internally with inert insulation and cushioning materials to ensure the very best achievable levels of protection against the extremes of climatic and mechanical hazards prevailing during transportation worldwide.

All CUSTOM... containers can be fitted out to meet all of the required interior configurations for two and three-dimensional Art Objects with thermal insulation and shock protection as appropriate to the objects to be packed.

CUSTOM... containers are ideally suited for the 'Hand Carryable' requirement where not only lightweight and strength are the main consideration but also a high degree of environmental performance.
